Greenville City Park Parcourse Project

Your help is needed, your health can benefit

March 2024

Banks local walking group, the Rural Ramblers, will be installing a Parcourse this summer to increase physical activity for the Banks Community.

What is a Parcourse: These are stations of equipment that people can perform specific exercises. This equipment is an excellent way to increase access to gym-like equipment for rural and urban residents. The equipment that has been selected will focus on improving balance, building muscle, core strength, and aerobic fitness.

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) partnered with Banks Library on a rural health and civic engagement study that formed the Rural Ramblers walking group. The supporting research from the study showed that rural people had less access to exercise equipment which can be linked to an increase in health problems.

The Rural Ramblers have received $5000.00 from OHSU toward this project.

The Rural Ramblers are now raising funds to help collect the rest of the money this project will need to finish.

Several local businesses and groups have expressed interest in supporting the Parcourse installation and the Banks Community Foundation is assisting with the project.

Rural Ramblers is seeking in-kind donations for the site work and labor. The overall budget for the Parcouse project is $45,000.00

Your generous donation will help complete this Parcourse project and promote a healthier lifestyle for our community.
